The Prominent ear correction Procedure
Prominent ear correction or Otoplasty is usually performed as a daycare procedure under local anaesthesia with sedation. In children, general anaesthesia is preferred. It usually takes 90 mins to 2 hours for the procedure. It is performed through a small hidden incision along the crease behind the ears.
The size of the ear is reduced by removing some cartilage and the shape modified to create natural ear folds with the help of sutures. The ears are set back closer to the scalp with the help of sutures. A dressing covering your ears will be left in place.
Recovery after Procedure
